Sitting lightly on the land
To ensure that Tūāpapa sits lightly on the land, sustainability has been a key consideration in the design and development process.
Sustainable practices that Tūāpapa will include are closed loop tenant waste management practices, e-waste recycling programmes, responsible waste management, NABERS building principles and extensive green spaces. Tūāpapa is designed to benefit its tenants with the satisfaction of working in a sustainable and healthy workplace.
Sustainable features of the buildings:
Green roof top
Smart flow water fittings
Energy efficient air conditioning (with heat recovery)
High performance double glazing
Roof top solar array
Low energy LED lighting with daylight harvesting
Rain water recycling
Green star and NABER targets

The design of Tūāpapa will generate and explore a meaningful connection between the development and history of the land as a productive and public space.
Tūāpapa aspires towards the long term goals of city planning with promotion of alternative transport opportunities that prioritise and encourage walking, cycling and use of public transport. Further to the pursuit of sustainability, design will use high quality and enduring materials fit for buildings which are to form an enduring and integrated part of the urban fabric.
